 Tobacco use is the single leading preventable cause of death in the United States. NicVAX, our investigational vaccine to treat nicotine addiction and prevent smoking relapse, shows promising results in clinical studies. Data from our Phase 2b study demonstrates a correlation between antibody levels and patients’ ability to quit smoking and remain abstinent over long periods of time. We look forward to continuing our collaboration with smoking cessation experts in the development of this exciting approach to long-term smoking abstinence.

 Pipeline
Nabi Biopharmaceuticals has a pipeline of biopharmaceutical products under development. These research and development pipeline products consist of several novel vaccines and antibody-based therapies in various stages of development to prevent and/or treat hepatitis, kidney disease (nephrology), Gram-positive bacterial infections, and nicotine addition. A number of products are being studied in clinical trials, including experimental vaccines for Staphylococcus aureus infections and nicotine addiction, and antibody-based therapies for S. aureus infections and hepatitis B and C. Collectively, these pipeline products represent an opportunity to help address the significant medical needs of millions of people around the world.

 Staphylococci bacterial infections are a major cause of potentially deadly healthcare-associated infections and are becoming increasingly resistant to antibiotics.
